Repeated vaginal infection is a frequent reason for consultation and becomes a real challenge for the treating physician.
We seem to run out of options when we have a patient who, after several cycles of treatment with vaginal creams and vaginal ointments, comes back to us reporting that after short periods of improvement, the symptoms of itching, irritation and vaginal discharge have returned.
With the use of the gynaecological laser for other pathologies such as urinary incontinence and vulvovaginal atrophy, we found surprisingly, that those patients who underwent these treatments treatments and who were also suffering from recurrent vaginal infections, suddenly reported that they were improving markedly.
